Application Process

A call for applications is carried out under the Designated School Nomination System. Those who wish to apply must meet the program’s qualification requirements, be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a designated school, and be recommended by the student’s department in the school. The names of designated schools are announced each year in mid-August.

Application Requirements and Forms Applicants should confirm that the school of their enrollment in the following April is a designated one. If so, print out the application form, and submit it to the office in charge of foreign student fellowships at your school.

Applications mailed or handed to the Foundation’s office will not be accepted.

Deadlines The closing date for applications differs from school to school, so please verify the date with the school staff. (The deadline for designated schools to send their nominations to the Foundation is October 15.)
