At the time of application, applicants must have passed the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) at N3 or above.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants have to find out and apply for Japanese universities \/ graduate schools by themselves before applying for this scholarship and are requested to submit a copy of the application for admission for the university \/ graduate school. Those who enroll in graduate schools are requested to submit a recommendation letter from a supervisor \/ professor of the applicants\u2019 targeted graduate school.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/www.rotary-yoneyama.or.jp\/content\/uploads\/pdf-data\/en_application_poster.pdf\">Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship for Overseas Candidate (poster)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&lt;Important&gt;<\/p>\n<p>Read the Application Guidelines thoroughly and carefully, then prepare the documents precisely. If you plan to go on to a university outside of Japan or language school, you are not eligible to apply.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Application Period:<\/strong><br \/>\nFor both April and fall (September\/October) 2027 Enrollment.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">From: 13:00 JST, October 1, 2026<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><strong>To: 13:00 JST, October 31, 2026<\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Announcement of Selection Results\uff1a<\/strong><br \/>\nTo Be Notified by the Middle of March 2027.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: initial\">Selection results will be notified to the applicants by email, and a certificate of eligibility will be issued to the successful applicants by the end of March 2027.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>*If the applicant is rejected for admission to the issuing university \/ graduate school, s\/he will lose eligibility for the scholarship at that point.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scholarship\uff1a<\/strong><br \/>\nFor April enrollment: Scholarship payment begins in April 2027<br \/>\nFor fall enrollment: Scholarship payment begins in October (or September) 2027<br \/>\n(1)Undergraduates\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 100,000 yen per month<br \/>\n(2)Master\u2019s students \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0140,000 yen per month<br \/>\n(3)Doctoral students \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0140,000 yen per month<br \/>\n*Research students are not eligible.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Supplemental Payment for Travel Expenses to Japan\uff1a<\/strong><br \/>\nSuccessful applicants may receive a subsidy of up to 250,000 yen toward travel expenses to Japan. After arriving in Japan, they must promptly submit to the Secretariat receipts and other supporting documents showing the actual costs incurred.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>* Successful applicants must arrive in Japan prior to the designated month of admission.
