Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Undergraduate Course Scholarship(YU)
Application details for 2023 YU/YM/YD Scholarship (Japanese only)
Scholarship Amount 100,000 yen per month
Eligible Person Open to 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students at a university; 5th and 6th year students in the fields of medicine, dentistry, or veterinary medicine.Eligible persons are those who are or will be enrolled in a designated school as of April, 2023.
Grant Periods Two years from 3rd year of an undergraduate course; from 5th year of a course in medicine, dentistry, or veterinary medicine

OR

One year from 4th year of an undergraduate course; from 6th year of a course in medicine, dentistry, or veterinary medicine

Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Master Course Scholarship(YM)
Application details for 2023 YU/YM/YD Scholarship (Japanese only)
Scholarship Amount 140,000 yen per month
Eligible Person Open to 1st and 2nd year students of a master’s program. Eligible persons are those who are or will be enrolled in a designated school as of April, 2023.
Grant Periods Two years from 1st year of a master’s program

One year from 2nd year of a master’s program

Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Doctoral Course Scholarship(YD)

Scholarship Amount 140,000 yen per month
Eligible Person Open to 2nd and 3rd year students of a doctoral program, and 3rd and 4th year students of a doctoral program in medicine, dentistry, and veterinary medicine. Eligible persons are those who are or will be enrolled in a designated school as of April, 2023.
Grant Periods Two years from 2nd year of doctoral program; from 3rd year of doctoral program in medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine

OR

One year from 3rd year of doctoral program; from 4th year of doctoral program in medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine

Rotary Yoneyama Memorial District Support Scholarship
— Program for students enrolled in an institution of higher education

Application details 2023 District Support Scholarship (Japanese only)

Scholarship Amount -100,000 yen per month for 1st and 2nd year students in an advanced course at a college of technology/students in a course to earn the degree of Advanced diploma (Koudo Senmonshi) at a specialized training school
-70,000 yen per month for the students except mentioned above
Eligible Person Students of junior colleges, colleges of technology (4th and 5th year students), special training colleges (special programs), plus 1st and 2nd year students in an advanced course at a college of technology and students in a course to earn the degree of Advanced diploma (Koudo Senmonshi) at a specialized training school
Must have one of following visas: college student, cultural activities or trainee. Eligible persons are those who are or will be enrolled in a designated school as of April, 2023.
Grant Periods -Two years from 1st year of an advanced course at a college of technology/3rd year of a course to earn the degree of Advanced diploma (Koudo Senmonshi) at a specialized training school
-One year for the students except mentioned above

Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Club Support Scholarship
— This program is used to extend a Yoneyama Scholar’s scholarship period. Half of the scholarship cost is covered by the Scholar’s Sewa (Host) Club

Scholarship Amount Undergraduates: 100,000 yen per month

Graduate students: 140,000 yen per month

Eligible Person
  • Yoneyama scholarship recipients who are in the final year of a doctoral course and expected to obtain a doctoral degree within 6 months to one year  (Students planning to go on to another graduate school in a neighboring district can also apply, on the condition of attending the SEWA club)
  • Yoneyama scholarship recipients who are in the final year of a master’s course and will enter a doctoral program in the same university  (Students planning to go on to another graduate school in a neighboring district can also apply, on the condition of attending the SEWA club)
  • Yoneyama scholarship recipients who are in the final year of an undergraduate course and will enter a master’s program in the same university
  • Yoneyama scholarship recipients who are eligible for overseas scholarship, those who advance to the next grade in the same course

* Approval of your Sewa club is needed to apply. Please consult with your counselor.

* Some districts do not accept extension applications under this program.

* Rotary Yoneyama Memorial District Support Scholarship and Japan Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Research Fellowship students are not eligible.

Grant Periods 6 months or one year

* Maximum 1 year for the final year of the doctoral course, maximum 2 years for others

Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship for Applicants Residing Abroad
— This program is for overseas students scheduled to enroll in a Japanese university or graduate school under Japan’s pre-arrival university admission system.See more details here.
Scholarship Amount Undergraduates: 100,000 yen per month
Master’s students:  140,000 yen per month
Doctoral students:  140,000 yen per month
Eligible Person Have either obtained or be in the process of applying for pre-arrival admission approval from the university or graduate school (under MEXT jurisdiction) to which you wish to enter as a degree student, and be scheduled for April 2023 or October (September) 2023 enrollment.

Japan Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Research Fellowship
— This fellowship is for advanced researchers from South Korea and Taiwan who are invited to do research at a Japanese university or academic institution.
Scholarship Amount 140,000 yen per month
Eligible Person Persons recruited and screened (including interviews) by alumni selection committees established in Korea and Taiwan. These committees are organized and operated by Yoneyama Alumni Associations in each country and region. See more details here.
